6.2 Megawatt Solar Farm

Lucas Electric constructed a 6.2 megawatt solar farm
in West Deptford, NJ. With a very aggressive schedule,
Lucas completed the
project within ten
weeks, on time and
on budget. As of
2010, this solar project
is the largest in
New Jersey.
Lucas self-performed
all electrical and civil
work, including:
• all concrete pads, piers and foundations
• horizontal and vertical drilling
• environmental containment for transformers
• overhead and underground distribution systems,
including manhole and conduits.

Project Details

The Paradise Road Solar Farm Project consisted of
three solar fields over a 50 acre area. The fields are
connected by overhead and
underground 26,400 volt
transmission systems and
fiber network.
Included in the project are:
• 26,208—panels
• 128—combiner boxes
• 11—500 kw inverters
• 1—1,200 amp 26.4 KV
outdoor switch gear
• Scada building.
The Project is owned by NextEra
Energy Resources and integrated
by American Capital
Energy.
The project's energy production
ties directly into PSE&G's electrical grid.
